The Airbus A380, perhaps the largest passenger aircraft in the World.

But of course it won't be flying in to Biggin Hill.

Because the runway is too short?

The runway is 1.8 Km long, whilst the Airbus needs 3 Km. However, the runway could easily be extended; but that's not the reason.

Because the turning circle of the flight path is too small?

A new, much larger, approach path is planned, but that's not the reason.

Because the landowners wouldn't agree to it?

The airport has purchased adjacent farmland, but that's not the reason.

Because the land is in the Green Belt?

Many areas of Green Belt have been built on in recent years, but that's not the reason.

Because the Managing Director of Biggin Hill Airport Ltd has given a pledge that there will be no expansion outside the current boundaries?

Yes, due to this pledge, the Airbus A380 will not be landing at Biggin Hill.
